  1. We need to get past developer convenience

Something we need to get past is the concept that “developer experience” will cascade and result in better end-user experience.

It’s something I need to get better at and a trap I’ve fallen into recently. It’s a tough habit to break.

  2. Morning snuggles

I start most days like this. Of all the sleep deprived hours in the day, this is the best one.

A baby asleep on her dad’s chest

  3. Delilah in the sun

I was thinking about getting some new blinds for my office, but I think Delilah has other ideas. I couldn't take this sunbathing opportunity away from her, surely?

Delilah the cat looks very happy sat on a cat bed in the sun

  4. Why is tech advertising jobs to women and not men?

A fabulous article by Julie here. This stuff is right on my mind at the moment and she's articulated it so well. Some good quotes:

“While men are likely to apply to jobs for which they meet only 60% of the qualifications, women are much more likely to hesitate unless they meet 100% of the listed requirements.”

“To make job listings more appealing, companies can reduce their list of requirements, or at least be more honest about which ones actually matter and choose carefully the words they use.”
