  1. The importance of manual accessibility testing

A super post by Eric Bailey here.

    This is a great takeaway:

“...computers are awful at understanding the overall situation of the outside world. It’s up to us humans to be the ultimate arbiters in determining if what the computer spits out is useful or not.”

Incredible content like this will only ever help with the mass-adoption of accessible web design.

  2. The top four web performance challenges

“It’s so disheartening when you’ve devoted your time and energy into your web font loading strategy, and optimising your images, and unbundling your JavaScript …only to have someone else’s JavaScript just shit all over your nice performance budget.”

So much to agree with in this article. I particularly like the suggestion of unionising against 3rd party scripts.

  3. Do whatever makes you smile, often

Do whatever you can to look after yourself and if something makes you smile, do it as often as you can.

It can be something totally silly. For example, I like to walk past the local Conservative MP's office and stick my middle finger up at him whenever I'm in Cheltenham. It certainly puts a smile on my face.
